| Popis | This course introduces students to the core concepts, theories, and research in abnormal psychology. Students examine historical and cultural definitions of normality and abnormality, gain an understanding of the classification and diagnosis of mental disorders (focusing on DSM-5), and explore various causal influences on psychopathology (genetic, biological, interpersonal, social, environmental). Emphasis is placed on critical thinking, integrating evidence-based prevention and treatment strategies, and applying knowledge to real-life contexts. Case studies, tests, and interactive activities help students link theory to professional and everyday settings. |
